Hychem System Warranty Guide for Sydney Projects
Every PowerPump pour uses a Hychem-backed self levelling system. That means the product carries a manufacturer's warranty, not just a verbal promise from a subbie. Here is what Sydney builders and developers need to know about Hychem warranties, documentation, and how to protect your project.
What Is a Hychem-Backed Warranty?
Hychem is a 100% Australian owned manufacturer of resin and cement-based flooring systems, established in 1987. Their products are manufactured locally for Australian conditions and are specified on projects from apartment towers to hospitals.
A Hychem-backed warranty means the levelling compound was manufactured by Hychem, applied according to Hychem's specifications, and documented with a batch record. If the product fails to perform as specified, Hychem honours the warranty. This is a real warranty from a real manufacturer, not a handshake from a subcontractor.
Why Mechanical Batching Matters for Warranties
Hychem warranties require the product to be applied according to specification. For levelling compounds, this means the correct water ratio, the correct depth, and the correct substrate preparation. Hand-mixed compound cannot guarantee these conditions. Water ratios vary, depths vary, and substrate preparation is inconsistent.
PowerPump's mechanical batching system ensures every batch has exactly the correct water ratio. The pump operator controls the depth and coverage. The result is a product that performs exactly as Hychem specifies, and a warranty that is valid.
What Documentation You Need
Every PowerPump pour includes a printed docket showing:
- Product type and batch number
- Exact batch weights
- Water ratio
- Coverage area
- Date and time of pour
- Pump operator signature
This documentation is your warranty evidence. Keep it in the project file. If a flooring issue arises months or years later, the docket proves the substrate was installed to specification.
What the Warranty Covers
Hychem warranties cover product defects and performance failures when the product is installed according to specification. The warranty does not cover substrate failures caused by structural movement, moisture ingress, or incorrect installation of the floor covering. For full warranty terms, contact Hychem or PowerPump.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
If you believe a Hychem product has failed, contact PowerPump with the docket number and the project details. PowerPump will assess the issue, coordinate with Hychem, and manage the warranty claim process. Most issues are resolved within 14 days of the initial report.
